Family,
Well, I had a rough week; we didn't get inside a single house, the news about Grandma, and the crazy things that just happen here in Mexico. We did, however, get two people to church and one will be getting baptized this week. Happy Elder Thompson. However, I am still super shocked about what happened, I just can't believe that she is gone. I think it is really interesting how Dad and I both have lost a grandparent in the mission. I also find it odd that she died almost the same way as Grandpa. I am a little sad, but I have found joy in the work here.
One of the elders in my district has a video of Thomas S. Monson, talking saying, in times of trial with grief and pain we can find joy in the phrase that the angel said to Mary: He is not here for he is risen. I loved this video and want to share it with you; it is in the Mormon messages videos and it is super beautiful. I hope we can all watch it.
I found peace in that phrase when Grandma passed away. Because it gives me the hope that we will all rise again and we will be crowned in glory. I don't know what I should say more about that...
My new companion is really serious and sometimes he can't take a joke, haha! I now know what you feel like. haha, my bad. I hope to hear from you all soon. I miss and love you all. I know that this Church is true and
that this Gospel is so special it kills me when people turn us down. They just don't get it. I know Joseph Smith is and was a prophet of God. He translated the Book of Mormon. I have no doubts. I know that we have a prophet today, and he guides and directs the Church through revelation from God. I know if we live up to our covenants we will live together with our families. I know that if we truly desire to repent we can change, it is possible no matter how hard it may seem. Success is when your dreams are bigger than your excuses. I know we can have a ton of success if we repent every day and get better. I love this gospel.I love my grandmother. I do love my family with all my heart. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer and He Lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
