Dear Family,
Things have been so interesting this week. But first, that story about Grandpa Cluff telling jokes in heaven almost killed me from laughing so hard. That made my day, so thank you. I feel so old! Let me tell you.
Lane is so tall it is gross... Anna, you too; you're getting there. Josh and Mikele, I'm not going to lie, that was hilarious to see. I am excited for my friends that are serving in the mission field. I know that this work changes lives.
For me this week was not near as fun. My companion and
I are having trouble getting along. He has pride; I have pride; Everyone has pride. Nothing is working. However, all is well. We are still working, and in my district we got two more baptisms!!! We were so excited! One of our investigators had been hearing the missionaries for years. He actually set his own baptismal date. It was amazing. Right now I am fine and, Mom, thank you for your prayers; I needed them this week. I
don't have much to say this week but know this next week will be better.
We had a lot of problems with Consejo de Barrio y nuevos
compañeros. It was such a roller coaster ride. I had a lot of ups and downs this week. We didn't get anybody to church. But hey, I can't drag people to church;I can only invite. I don't know if you kept your last invitations that I sent to you, but I hope all is well.
This week my comp and I had fun at first, but then things just got rough; he doesn't trust me as his leader and this change is his last and he feels like he knows it all. It is super frustrating. I'll be like "Hey, let's go visit them..." only to hear "No, it's not good." Or, "You got to be better in this, that, this and this and that. GRR. Oh well, it's only six weeks right?
This last week was crazy with Halloween and Day of the Dead... things are different when they celebrate Day of The Dead. They bring all of their favorite foods and their family who has passed on eats it during the night.Really interesting. It was such a great night to sleep let me tell you. Hahaha! MUCHO MUSICA! I hope that we are all focusing on our ancestors and doing their work for them in the temple; they may not get to eat with us, but they will be able to be with us in the future.
I am grateful for my new companion because I am definitely learning patience with this elder. Gracias para sus oraciones y para su apoyo mama papa gracias por su ejemplos. Lane y Anna gracias para hacen las cosas bien. Sige firme en la fe. Tengo mucho animo para verles este navidad.
Con amor,
Elder Thompson
