Dear Family,
Thank you for the information. I just got back from changes. I am really nervous and excited. My new companion is Elder G. He is from Chihuahua, Chuautemoc. The only thing that makes me nervous is that this elder has been rumored to be really disobedient, but we will see what he is really like, shall we? Well, Mom, I loved this last letter you sent me; it was awesome. Please, I encourage everyone to read and use Preach My Gospel. It is not just a manual for missionaries. It is a manual for all the members. I think many prophets have said every member a missionary. I have been using that thing like there is no tomorrow. That book is of God and I am ever grateful for it. I love it.
Well, this week was so crazy. We had three dates for baptism this weekend. Well, two of them decided that they wanted to get baptized the next week and so that is what our plan is. But the one that we did baptize was such a crazy story. I interviewed him for the hermanas. He passed, but he didn't want to get baptized because he was sick. I was also sick so I took that problem out of the equation, but then he
said he didn't want to get baptized without his friend. "Well", I said, "let's go get him then." Long story, short, I needed the bathroom so my companion and I went to the restroom, and we were expecting that he was going to wait for us. Nope, he
went looking for his friend without us. He doesn't have a cell phone and yeah...
We went on a three hour search for the guy. We did find him and we got him to the waters of baptism. WHOO! We also have a family that assisted [attended] church this week and we plan to get them to the water this month. I also can't believe that I am going to be 20 by the end of this change... I think I need a cane... haha jk.
I am so grateful for your support, your prayers, and the all the blessings I have received. You have no clue how much I depend on that support. I wish I could tell you how much I have grown, but like I said, I want it to shock you when I come home. I am so grateful for this gospel. I don't know how before I didn't think that this was cool. Missionary work is the coolest thing on this earth; nothing comes close. It makes me sad to think that at the end of next week I will have completed seven months.
I love the fact I have the authority to invite others to come unto Christ. I would like to extend other invitations: Lane, I hope you are striving to go to the temple. Nowhere on earth will keep you safer. Anna, I hope that you are obedient to Mom and Dad. Mom, I hope that you are sharing the gospel with everyone you can. Dad, I hope that you will continue being an instrument in the hands of the Lord. For me (like you said, Mom) I hope I will become that missionary the Lord needs and wants me to be. I really love this scripture because it explains that through faith, patience, and diligence we will become what we are striving to become, especially if the seed is good. I am trying to apply this in every aspect of the work.
I hope that all is well at home. No se precoupe! Estoy bien todo que necesito es amor y suportar.
Les amo,
Elder Thompson
