Dear Family,
Wow, what a party! Lane, you look studly, my man!!! HA HA. Wow, that must have been so fun. Sorry I haven't written a lot about Elder Costello. He really is the funnest guy ever, and he has some of the craziest stories I have ever heard in my life. For example, he likes to do donuts in the middle of an intersection in his truck right after it rains. He has a crazy story about how he got root beer from his neighbors that was super delicious. So many stories... He and I get along great. No worries there! My district is great too. They just sometimes lack the focus that we need to have. Other than that, everything is great.
Lane and Anna, this is for you. I MISS YOU A LOT TOO!!! I miss hearing your crazy stories about school. I just feel out of the loop.
That makes me sad that Bridger is already in Mexico. I was looking forward to him being here too. I did see Ryan, though, at one of the many devotionals of my life!!! So this week was nuts!! We had two devotionals with two members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The first one was on Tuesday, with Elder Niel A. Anderson. He gave such a great talk about the importance of using the Book of Mormon in missionary work. When he came in, holy cow, let me tell you... He is a disciple of God. If you want an Insta-Spirit package, that's the way to go. Being around him was just amazing. Then the next one was Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf!! Once again, just being in the same room with him is like a spiritual punch to the face!! He was so loving and kind to us. He talked about being converted and being perfectly obedient and to sum it up, it was awesome! Then he came down into the isle that I was in, and I SHOOK HIS HAND!!! THEN HE CAME TO WEST CAMPUS AND ATE LUNCH WITH US!! AHHH! so cool. That was really the highlight of my week.
The sad part about my week is that Senor Crex is, well, an actor that is not a real investigator... lame right? It's okay though because I really learned a lot from the questions he asked me and what I knew about them. I love being here; it has been so fun. Yes, I am used to the missionary schedule. It's not boring though. I have so much to do and so much to learn. Seriously, I have a lot to learn about myself and my testimony. Also, today I went to the temple at 9:00 am... hint... jk... but there were protesters that were paid to be there to yell at the missionaries that were coming in. I didn't approach them but they approached us and were saying things that were kinda ridiculous, Like "You're ugly to look at. You are arrogant. You are liars. You are a disgrace to look at." All I could think was Wow you have no idea what the gospel is about. I about turned around and said, "Would Jesus say these things to you or me?" The answer would be no. They also said things that I will not put in this letter pero it's all good.
I love you all. I know this church is true don't be afraid to defend your faith as Elder Holland spoke of because in the future I think we will have to. I love you, and KEEP WRITING ME, LANE. I JUST SENT YOU MAIL! haha
Con amor,
Elder Thompson
