Awesome Area and a Walmart to Boot

Dear Family,

Wow how much can change in just eight months!! Lane, without braces you look so much like, well...ME!!! I can't believe Anna put up all the Christmas on her own. Well done, sis. I can't believe how fast time is flying here. I still feel like it was just yesterday that I looked back and saw my family at the MTC. However, I know so much has changed and I have grown so much.

I love this area. Right now, though, our area has almost nothing to work with. BUT, we have fantastic members; I can't believe how nice they are to us.

This Christmas is coming so fast and I will have better information for you next week. I will be calling the 23rd or 24th.  I'm not sure but we have a conference with president and I will know more after that.

This last week we had a miracle happen. We had no one committed to come to church the whole week and we only sat down to eat and to sleep. That is about it. Yeah, we were exhausted.  Then, we went everywhere to get people and came up empty handed to the church, so--disappointed--we
returned to the church building where we found a young man named Jairo. He is 22 years old and he brought himself to church! That doesn't just happen. Miracles happen when we are obedient, patient. We did not complain about our situation and we just trusted in the Lord to help, and, well,it worked. Proof that God does bless the obedient--especially the patient ones.

I love this gospel; it has changed me a ton. As a district we did very well this week and we have about 10 future fechas for baptism in the upcoming weeks--all in December. We are super stoked to get going. I have a great district and we are all going to sing What Child is This? I have changed so much I CAN SING! AHAHAHAH! My voice has changed, and now I sing tenor. Dad, what you said about my voice being higher...well, yeah, now it is. At first I didn't believe that speaking this language would do that, but now I get it.

I know that the time here is extremely short as it says in our missionary handbook. I can't believe that Becca and Travis will be coming home so soon. Didn't they just leave too? I am so grateful for this area and, Mom, I bought myself a couple new ties. I have Walmart. YES!

I hope that all is well at home and that you will have a White Christmas rather than a dry Christmas running around in Mexico.

Love you all,

Elder THompson
